“Why in the world have you continued to tear your health up with all that weight?” the email began. “You will not live to see your children grow if you do not get rid of that horrid gut and huge arms.”

That email came to the inbox of Carrie Duncan, a meteorologist at Biloxi’s WLOX, where she’s worked since 2002.

The email went on to attack Duncan further, calling her an “embarrassment” to WLOX and the Gulf Coast.

“It has gotten so bad that my husband will not watch the news when you are giving the forecast because he finds your appearance so repulsive,” the email went on to say.

Instead of trashing the email, Duncan took a screenshot and shared it with her more than 35,000 Facebook followers.

“I am not happy with my weight right now. I know this. I want to do better, and I know I will,” she wrote. But that wasn’t her message.

“I am sharing this email I recived to show you what some people have to go through. It could be the thinnest person, and they’re too skinny,” she wrote.

“Please STOP WITH THE HATE,” she implored.

Duncan’s Facebook post was soon flooded with comments, likes, and shares. As of Friday morning, her post had been shared more than 1,200 times and had over 4,000 reactions.
